LEAVE YOUR PETS IN SAFE HANDS
At Howl-A-Day Inn Resort, we strive to give your pet the best experience possible. After all, this is their vacation too! If they have never stayed away from home, we would love to have you see us before your reservation date for an initial visit and tour. Call for an appointment, and we'll get acquainted at a time when the kennel is quieter and less busy. Our day is full taking care of our guests - they are our top priority - and we want to give you and your pet our full attention!
Our drop-off and pick-up times are Monday - Friday from 7-9 am and 4-6 pm. Saturdays 9-11 am and Sunday 4-5 pm (pick up ONLY and by appointment only). Please make every effort to be on time. Your consideration of our business hours is appreciated as this is also our home.
VACCINATIONS
Before check-in, please have your veterinarian email a copy of your pet's current vaccination record at to howladay@gmail.com. It is your responsibility to ensure that your pet is up to date before bringing them for their stay.
Your pet MUST be on a flea/tick preventative for their protection and the other pets staying here! NO SHARING ALLOWED! If fleas or ticks are found on your pet, they will be sent to grooming for a flea and tick bath, and the charge will be added to your bill.
FOOD
Please bring your pet's regular food in a hard plastic bin or container. This will ensure there are no digestive problems during their stay. Bil-Jac is our kennel food and will be available if you forget to bring your own. No dog food bags. Zip-loc baggies must be stored in hard plastic or metal bin or resealable container. (Bags can rip or fall over, spilling the entire contents). Don't forget to include your scoop so we can measure food just like you do at home. If your pet requires a special diet, please bring their food and provide detailed instructions. You are welcome to bring your raised feeder and slow feeder/puzzle bowls. Raised feeders and slow feeder bowls are delicate. Some dogs like to play with their bowls, so, please, NO GLASS OR POTTERY BOWLS OR CONTAINERS OF ANY KIND!
WHAT TO BRING
Food, a bed or blanket, treats, and toys are encouraged as they make your pet feel more at home. Please limit toys to 2 or 3. If your pets suffer from separation anxiety, you may want to include a t-shirt or other article of clothing you've just worn for your pet to sleep with.
If your pet needs medication, please bring it in a Zip-Loc bag with their name on it along with detailed instructions on dosage and times to give it. We use Pill Pockets to mask the pills - an extra treat for them as most love dogs and cats love them. We are experienced with giving insulin injections as well. If the medication requires refrigeration, be sure to let us know!
It cannot be stressed enough - write your pet's name on EVERYTHING! We make every effort to make sure all of your pet's belongings are sent home with you. Double-check with us at check out! We are not responsible for items without their name on them or for items that your pet destroys during their stay. In other words, if you bring the comforter from your bed because your pet sleeps with you, make sure it's one you don't mind getting dirty or torn to shreds. We keep a lost & found toy box in the office if you find that something is missing.
IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY
In an emergency, please be sure your dog has a properly fitting collar (so it won't pull off over their head) and a leash or retractable lead. If your dog uses a harness - make sure it fits properly so they cannot back out of it or slip it off.
